In search of adventures and epic waves, our Aussie shredder Shannon left the safety of life as a marine biologist in South West Oz…and that’s exactly what she found! Setting up camp in the Mentawai’s, surfing some of the best waves in the world right on her doorstep, living by the land and falling in love, she really has found paradise.

Living with her partner, a local ripper, their cute dog Jocky and a collection of chickens, they collect firewood to cook, stock up on coconuts to make organic fresh coconut oil and sell cloves from the trees in the garden for extra cash. The embodiment of ‘live as you dream’, Shan is an inspiration to us all. And look how much fun she’s having…
